Machined Aluminium House Number Sign – Satin Silver with Colour Infill
A modern, minimalist house number sign machined from solid 4mm aluminium, with crisp recessed numbering finished with a durable infill.
Each sign is CNC machined from aluminium sheet before being hand finished to create a clean satin brushed-metal appearance. The combination of silver aluminium and contrasting coloured lettering gives the plaque a premium contemporary look that suits both modern and traditional properties.
Unlike printed or acrylic house signs, this plaque is manufactured from solid metal, giving it a substantial feel while remaining slim and understated.

A Proper Metal House Sign
This range has been designed as an affordable alternative to our traditional cast metal plaques while retaining the quality and durability associated with a genuine metal sign.
The lettering is machined directly into the aluminium rather than simply printed onto the surface, creating a crisp, permanent design with excellent contrast.
The satin finish is intentionally understated rather than highly polished, giving the plaque a modern architectural appearance.

Please note that as aluminium is individually machined and satin finished, very slight variations in the grain and finish are normal and form part of the character of the product.
Our Finishes Explained...
You will notice you can choose between a brushed, satin or polished finish on some our products. This refers to the finish on the raised parts of the house sign (border and text).
Brushed leaves a horizontal grain on the raised areas.
Satin, leaves finer grains which creates a matte finish.
Polished, leaves a shiny mirror finish.

What to Expect from Sand Casting
Our Metal Cast plaques are hand-crafted using high-quality oil-bonded sand casting. This process produces durable, beautiful pieces, but because it uses sand molds, the surface will have:
- A natural textured finish (fine sand grain pattern)
- Occasional small sand inclusions or pits (typically less than 1 mm)
- Minor colour and texture variations common to bronze castings
These characteristics are normal and do not affect the strength or longevity of your piece.
Standard Finish Level (Included)
- Cleaned to remove loose sand
- Light brushing and blow-off
- Minimal grinding of sharp edges or obvious burrs
This finish preserves the natural character of the sand cast surface.
Upgrade Options (For a Smoother Finish)
- Satin Finish - Extra sanding, grinding, and smoothing
- Premium polished Finish - Polishing and minor filling of inclusions
Upgraded finishes reduce surface texture and minimize visible imperfections for a more refined look.
What Is Considered Acceptable?
Acceptable Features
- Small pits or inclusions < 1 mm diameter
- Natural sand texture pattern.
- Minor surface roughness in non-critical areas
Non-Acceptable Features
- Large voids or holes
- Unreadable text
- Sharp burrs or protrusions affecting detail
Why These Surface Features Exist
Sand casting uses specially prepared molds made from bonded sand, which results in a textured, organic surface. Even with meticulous preparation, tiny sand grains may leave slight marks or inclusions. This is a hallmark of the craft, not a flaw.
