Our Aluminium Oval House Number signs are perfect if you want to display your house number in a simple but stylish way.
Our cast aluminium oval house number signs are handmade to order and finished with raised numbers and border detail for a premium, long-lasting look.
Each sign is produced by sand casting, giving it the character of a genuine cast metal product rather than a flat printed or engraved plate. The raised number and border are then finished in your chosen style: Brushed Silver, Satin Silver, Polished Silver, or Gold Painted.

Every sign is cast and finished to order, so slight variations in surface texture are a normal feature of genuine sand-cast metalwork and part of the character of the piece.

Our Finishes Explained...
You will notice you can choose between a brushed, satin or polished finish on some our products. This refers to the finish on the raised parts of the house sign (border and text).
Brushed leaves a horizontal grain on the raised areas.
Satin, leaves finer grains which creates a matte finish.
Polished, leaves a shiny mirror finish.

What to Expect from Sand Casting
Our Metal Cast plaques are hand-crafted using high-quality oil-bonded sand casting. This process produces durable, beautiful pieces, but because it uses sand molds, the surface will have:
- A natural textured finish (fine sand grain pattern)
- Occasional small sand inclusions or pits (typically less than 1 mm)
- Minor colour and texture variations common to bronze castings
These characteristics are normal and do not affect the strength or longevity of your piece.
Standard Finish Level (Included)
- Cleaned to remove loose sand
- Light brushing and blow-off
- Minimal grinding of sharp edges or obvious burrs
This finish preserves the natural character of the sand cast surface.
Upgrade Options (For a Smoother Finish)
- Satin Finish - Extra sanding, grinding, and smoothing
- Premium polished Finish - Polishing and minor filling of inclusions
Upgraded finishes reduce surface texture and minimize visible imperfections for a more refined look.
What Is Considered Acceptable?
Acceptable Features
- Small pits or inclusions < 1 mm diameter
- Natural sand texture pattern.
- Minor surface roughness in non-critical areas
Non-Acceptable Features
- Large voids or holes
- Unreadable text
- Sharp burrs or protrusions affecting detail
Why These Surface Features Exist
Sand casting uses specially prepared molds made from bonded sand, which results in a textured, organic surface. Even with meticulous preparation, tiny sand grains may leave slight marks or inclusions. This is a hallmark of the craft, not a flaw.
